The
Commissary module aims to revolutionize the traditional
commissary ordering process. It has been specifically designed
for the unique requirements of the Corrections environment
and works to eliminate the need for manual ordering.
This module dramatically reduces the number of personnel
required to manage the commissary system making the process
more efficient by reducing paperwork. It also helps to
increase commissary revenue by enabling inmates to maximize
their spending.
Features
Display Goods – Goods are displayed
in categories, e.g. groceries, drinks, toiletries. Within
the categories individual goods are listed along with
pricing information. InfoCenter highlights any items that
are unavailable by marking them ‘Out of Stock’.
InfoCenter can be linked to a stock system to monitor
stock availability and to provide current pricing information.
Requesting Goods – Users can create
a shopping list of requested goods. Goods can easily be
added or removed from the shopping list, provided they
have sufficient funds in their accounts. The system carries
out a range of verification processes i.e. calculates
the total cost of the items, verifies it is within the
user’s spending limit and checks that they have
enough funds in their account.
Reporting – The system can be
linked to the inmate trust account system to enable the
user to check balances and view transaction history. Inmates
can also view the status of existing orders.
